Missouri band history:
The Missouri band was founded In Kansas City, Mo by Ron West in 1977. Ron was the primary songwriter, guitarist, and lead vocalists. He was joined by veteran bass player Alan Cohen, lead guitarist Lane Turner and Bill Larson on drums. Keyboardist Randall Platt joined the original line up just after the completion of the debut record. Even though the debut lp was on Panama Records which was an independent label, the band garnered substantial airplay on American FM AOR radio stations, specifically with the track “Movin On”. Missouri toured nationally with many major label acts opening shows for bands such as Golden Earring , Sammy Hagar, Ted Nugent, Van Halen, BTO, Wille Nelson among many others in support of their debut lp. A second album, “Welcome Two Missouri”, was released on the larger and international Polydor label in 1979, including a re-recorded version of “Movin’ On” . By this time two of the original line up (Lane Turner and Bill Larson) had left the band. No further recordings were issued except a repackaging of recordings from the previous albums called The Best of Missouri. Missouri songs are available on iTunes etc.

The band delivers on its promise of hot pickin’, strong vocals, driving rhythm, and smiles from the stage, which have allowed them to last over three decades and still continue to please audiences with their growing catalogue of hits.
